Inbound Marketing: Why You Don't Need To Start From Scratch

If HubSpot's a software and software’s a tool, then HubSpot is a just tool, right? 

The answer is both YES and NO. 

If I ask you to build me a bookshelf from scratch, what will you need to accomplish the task?  You’ll need the necessary building materials, the proper tools and the time to do it. 

You’ve got all that?  Ok, go!

It’s been couple of weeks!  My bookshelf should be ready!  I can’t wait to see it!

What’s that?  You were not successful?  It didn’t turn out the way you envisioned?

That’s ok, but I’m not surprised. 

You had the supplies and the tools, so you’re headed in the right direction!  What you need, in addition to what you’ve already got are, a design style, a blueprint and a strategy of attack that gets you to the results you are looking for.

There are more efficient ways to build a bookshelf at home, that’s for sure.  In the age of IKEA, why start from scratch?  In the age of IKEA you get to choose exactly the bookshelf you want, what you want it to look like, how big it should be, what color and design aesthetic etc.  Once I have made my selection, I grab the box that includes EVERYTHING I need, nuts and bolts, pre-cut lumber, some necessary tools and arguably the most important:  the plan!  Take that puppy home, add a little time and effort and voila!  A bookshelf!
