2016-What a year of online lead generation!

Lead Generation.jpegWow! This is the hardest blog post I've had to start so far. Why? I have not written a blog post for Coombs Marketing in a year!! So, I ask myself why that is? How is it that others can post monthly, weekly, and even daily and I can't get one out in a YEAR for our business? I have however written many blog posts for clients this year. I'm sure we are not the only agency that neglects themselves when they get busy, or even convinces themselves that there's no time to write a post. And, the best way to nuture existing customers and gain new ones, is to put out valuable information that they can use. So here goes...I decided to break the writer's block and go for it. Let's call it Coombs Marketing's New Years Resolution. You can track how well we do with it.

After reporting that Katie Coombs was working on version 2 of "this" generation of Coombs Marketing's website, she's actually doing it as I write, (another neglected item last year.) Some of you might remember other versions of Coombs Marketing websites, since our first one in 1997. Yes, we had a website before Google did! Keep an eye out over the next couple of months for a new look for Coombs. The logo has already changed.

2016 brought us great clients. As last year, most are in Upstate NY, so the road between Charlotte and Rochester is still well-worn at this point. Our goal was to always be providing value and be helpful. We had many wins, and some losses as well. The good news is that we hit our "sweet-spot" a lot more than we missed. That's rewarding!

This year brought another year of results:

  • 4 new website redesigns for clients
  • After starting with the Rochester Eye & Laser Center and launching www.rochestereyecenter.com in November of 2015 as a lead generation site, their traffic went from 30,143 users with a bounce rate of 69% (or actual users of 9,344), to 25,470 users spending over 2 minutes a session through 2016.
  • Our Rochester Eye & Laser Center client gained 544 new contacts, and 122 new customers from inbound marketing, paid online marketing and social media advertising, radio ads, and continuous SEO efforts in 2016
  • Created Facebook ads, and retargeting ads that yielded great customer results - learned a lot in the process!
  • Produced selling videos for the Lowes, Home Depot, and Fiberon websites, (2 of these videos in Spanish, Czech, Norwegian, Dutch, German and British English)
  • Produced a CEO Video (The TROVE Difference) for TROVE Data featured on trovedata.com
  • LinkedIn prospecting and training, and strategic social media for clients
  • Wrote a LOT of blogs and social media posts about LASIK, Cataracts, Eye Glasses, and Eyecare last year
  • Conducted marketing/business strategy sessions
  • Learned a great deal about new industries (i.e.Predictive Data Science, and Energy Innovation In the Southeast) 
  • We bought a new video camera this year...more about that in an upcoming blog post
  • We were a Silver HubSpot Agency Partner in 2016
  • And most important, we know that the Inbound Marketing Methodology works!  It's a strategic and measurable method of gaining leads online.

That makes it a great year. We look forward to getting even better online lead results in 2017.
