Influenster, a website dedicated to product discovery and reviews, surveyed nearly 8,500 people about their YouTube viewing habits. Users of all ages were asked questions ranging from the kinds of content they were most likely to click, to how often they use the site and for what purposes.
What they found is that although younger generations of viewers generally watch YouTube videos at least once each day, the overall viewing habits of Gen X, Gen Y and Gen Z tend to be very different from one another. Here’s an example: the majority of respondents stated that they like watching product review videos. However, Gen X folks tend to prefer “how-to” style content, while Gen Z folks tend to enjoy unboxing videos.
